105/2B,In 1978 a family of technocrats set out to establish the first indigenous Thermoset Resin Plant in Kolkata, India. Ruia Chemicals started offering all possible grades of Unsaturated Polyester Resins to its patrons, matching international industry standards. In the coming 4 decades, we were to emerge as market leaders in Thermosets, catering to a wide range of industries including Railways, Defense, Oil Sector, Chemicals Industry, Cooling Towers, Art & Architecture, Public Utility Works, Sports Industry and others.
Though, our Resins were serving the Fiber Reinforced Plastics industry, we felt that there was a huge untapped potential for FRP Products in several greenfield sectors like the Oil industry, Defense sector, Paint industry etc. This led us to delve into the downstream sector of FRP Pipes and Tanks. In 2005, after our persistent efforts, we were able to break the glass ceiling by introducing Fiber Reinforced Plastics to India’s largest Oil Refining Company – Indian Oil. Since then, we have introduced FRP Pipes and Tanks in some of the most interesting and challenging applications in the Oil, Paint and Defense sectors having highly corrosive service operations, high pressure applications and large capacity storage.
By 2007, our zeal for innovation drove us to the development of latest generation concrete super-plasticizer – Polycarboxylate Ether. After years of tenacious research by our team of polymer scientists, we were the first Indian company to crack the code and craft these extraordinary molecules that have built the Burj Khalifas of the modern world.
