Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu welcomed the new year with a wave of development and laid the foundation for projects worth Rs 197.93 crore in Kullu district. From vibrant market spaces to critical infrastructure bridges, these initiatives promise to transform the region's landscape and empower its people.
Amid towering snow-capped peaks, Sukhu officially opened the doors of Bandrol Sabzi Mandi, a vibrant hub for local producers and traders. He then crossed the roaring Beas River via the newly constructed double lane bridge at Raison, which symbolized a vital link in improving connectivity. And in Manali's Marhi Tehsil, an eco-friendly market marked a commitment to sustainable development.
“These projects are not just basic elements; They are a catalyst for progress,” Sukhu declared, addressing the enthusiastic crowd. “They will boost local economies, improve accessibility and create new opportunities for everyone.”
But the Prime Minister's vision went beyond shiny buildings. He acknowledged the challenges facing Himachalis following last year's natural disasters. "Despite financial constraints, we have faced setbacks head-on," he said. "We have updated the policy and quickly provided rapid assistance to affected families."
As evidence of this decision, Sukhu highlighted the Mukhyamantri Sukh-Ashraya Yojna that was launched on January 1, 2023. And on this New Year's Day, he unveiled another ambitious programme: a comprehensive and tailor-made educational program for children by Divyang.
“Our vision is to build a world-class institution that caters to all your needs,” explains Sukhu. “From quality school education to advanced skills training, you will unlock their full potential, helping them excel academically, in sports and in all areas of life.”
His words resonated with the crowd and echoed a message of hope and inclusion. As the snow glistened under the winter sun, the inauguration of these projects marked not just a new year but a new era of development and empowerment for Himachal Pradesh.
