Schneider Electric India has planned an investment of Rs 3,200 crore by 2026 to expand its presence in the country. Investments to expand operations will be made in nine states adding 1.2 million square feet of space.
These investments will be spread across the states of Gujarat, Telangana, Karnataka, West Bengal, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. As a key area of focus, the energy management company has set a goal of achieving net-zero electricity in its operations by 2030 and an end-to-end carbon-neutral value chain by 2040.
The company currently manages more than 700 MW of renewable power purchase agreements (PPAs) and offers sustainable solutions for on-site solar installations, as well as off-site procurement of solar and wind energy.
Additionally, the companys Luminous brand offers inverters, batteries and solar solutions that power homes in India. It is also supplying 1.5 million prepaid smart meters to Energy Efficiency Services (EESL) in Bihar, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh and intends to continue rolling out the projects under the Renewed Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).
Schneider Electric India, a subsidiary of Schneider Electric, operates 30 factories in the country. Of them, five smart factories are located in Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai.
