AIIMS Delhi is working with the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) to conduct a technical assessment of the hospital campus for conversion to a solar powered facility. According to an official statement, IREDA will conduct a comprehensive techno-commercial evaluation of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) campus.
In line with this partnership, a nine-kilowatt rooftop solar power plant at the AIIMS New Delhi campus was inaugurated on Tuesday. The assessment of IREDA, as set out in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), includes various aspects such as financial modelling, pre-feasibility studies and the preparation of a detailed project report (DPR). They will also help analyse technical and commercial elements related to project development, finalise commercial and contractual arrangements and define performance indicators.
By venturing into this alliance and implementing solar projects, the esteemed medical institute aims to significantly reduce its electricity costs while contributing to environmental sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint, with support from IREDA.
