NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC, is seeking tenders from engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors to develop both floating and ground-mounted solar projects with a capacity of up to 10 MW.
The registration is valid for one year and can be extended for an additional year if necessary. The deadline for submitting bids is August 21, 2023, and bids will open the next day.
To be eligible, tenderers must have experience in developing, designing, building, commissioning or supervising EPC activities for grid-connected solar projects with a cumulative output of 800 kW or more. Of these projects, at least one must have an output of 100 kW or higher and have been in operation for at least six months before the opening date of the tender.
Alternatively, bidders may be eligible if they have carried out an industrial project in energy, steel, oil and gas, petrochemicals, fertilizer, cement, coal mining or any other process industry, with a minimum value of Rs 40 million (~$486,333) for a single project that has successfully operated for at least one year prior to the opening of the bid.
In addition, tenderers must have experience in operating at least one electrical substation with a voltage level of 33 kV or higher, including equipment such as circuit breakers and power transformers of 33 kV or higher. This substation must have operated successfully for at least one year before the opening of the tender.
Nvvn recently invited bids from engaged developers to set up a 1.5 MW grid-connected solar project at IIM Bodh Gaya.
In a separate development, NTPC Renewable Energy, another wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC, has issued another tender for the supply of battery energy storage systems for solar projects at the Khavda Renewable Energy Park in the Kutch region of Gujarat. This tender was previously issued in November of the previous year.
