According to three individuals with knowledge of the transaction, KLA Tencor, a California-based process control system manufacturer, has leased 3,20,000 square feet of office space in the new DLF Downtown Taramani in Chennai.
Although they omitted financial information, they claimed the transaction was one of the largest commercial lease deals the city had ever seen. Within the next three months, the company is expected to move into the new office, they stated.
The transaction advisor for the deal was the international real estate company CBRE. The first phase of DLF Downtown in Taramani in Chennai should be completed in the coming months, according to Sriram Khattar, managing director of DLF's rental division. However, he did not comment on the deal.
"It is over 80% leased and we are confident that we will be able to rent the remaining space before this phase of the project is completed.
