According to R K Vishnoi, CMD, THDC India, a state-owned company, has started supplying coal from its Amelia coal block in Madhya Pradesh. In a statement, Vishnoi mentioned that the block's commercial activities began six months ahead of schedule.
He stated: "The first shipment of coal, excavated from the mines, has been transported to the railway yard in THDCIL's Amelia coal mine project."
The mine has reserves of 162.05 MT, including a recoverable coal reserve of 139.48 MT, and it meets the fuel needs of the 1320 MW Khurja Super Thermal Power Plant in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh.
THDC India, based in Uttarakhand, operates in the energy sector and is involved in hydropower, wind, solar, thermal and other forms of energy.
