One of the retiring subsidiaries of JSW Energy recently announced the commissioning of a 51megawatt (MW) wind power plant in Tamil Nadu. "JSW Renew Energy Two Limited has commissioned 51 MW wind energy capacity under phased commissioning of 450 MW ISTS- connected wind energy project awarded under SECI tranche X in Tamil Nadu," JSW Energy reported in a regulatory file.
Since then, the company's total installed capacity has increased to 6,615 MW, with 2,855 MW of additional capacity still under construction and expected to be commissioned in phases over the next 12 to 18 months, the statement said. JSW Energy wants to increase its capacity to 20 GW by 2030 and has a short-term target of 10 GW by 2025. By using battery energy storage systems and hydropower storage facilities, the company has also entered the energy storage market and has committed to 3.4 GWh of energy storage capacity to date.
