Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) publishes a tender for the development of solar projects with a capacity of 615 MW. 100 MW in Aurangabad-II, 76 MW and 105 MW in Aurangabad-III, 143 MW in Pune and 191 MW in the Konkan region make up the cumulative capacities of 615 MW.
In Maharashtra, the projects would be built on government-owned land. For the projects, the ceiling rate is set at Rs 3.20/kWh. The deadline for submitting proposals is 8 May. Bids begin the same day. The EMD (Earnest Money Deposit) of the project is Rs 100,000/MW.
Within 30 days of the work order being issued, the selected bidder must submit a performance bank guarantee (valid for fourteen months from the effective date) of Rs 500,000/MW. The power purchase agreement (PPA), which will be signed within one month of the issuance of the Letter of Award (LoA), is in effect for 25 years from the commercial operating date of the proposed or new solar projects.
Avaada Energy, a renewable energy company based in Mumbai, has won a 560 MWdc solar project that would provide MSEDCL with green power. In addition, MSEDCL has published a request for proposals (RFP) for the e-reverse auction purchase of 88 MW (AC) of solar energy from projects that will be developed in the Nagpur district of Maharashtra.
