The Eastern Railway's Howrah division has requested bids for the design and delivery of a 2.2MW solar installation on the roof of the grid without battery backup. The deadline for submitting bids is March 6, 2023.
Bids are accepted and opened on the same day. Bidders must make a serious cash deposit of Rs 653,000. The project must be completed within 6 months of receiving the work order.
The equipment of the project must be in accordance with the "Make in India" policy. Tenderers must have carried out three identical works costing at least 30% of the tender value, two similar works costing at least 40% of the tender value, or at least one similar job that has cost at least 60% of the tender value in the previous seven years.
The South Eastern Railway has issued a tender for the appointment of developers to install grid-connected solar energy systems on the roof of various capacities in West Bengal through public-private partnerships.
In November last year, the Western Railway announced that it had saved Rs 30 million on utility bills during the 2021-22 financial year by installing 6.6 MW of solar projects in 97 railway stations and 3.92 MW of solar projects in 46 railway office buildings.
