According to the Noida Authority, work on the skywalk connecting the subway stations in Noida Sector 52 and Sector 51 has progressed. While Sector 52 can be found on the Blue Line, Sector 51 can be found on the Aqua Line. For persons who need to change lines to get between the two stations, a rickshaw or an auto rickshaw is necessary. With the skywalk, the Noida Authority wants to alleviate this problem.
The Noida Authority has selected the agency for the project. An escalator with an automatic speed of 5 m/s will also be placed within the skywalk. The government will auction the escalator.
The skywalk will be fully air-conditioned. The structure will cost around Rs 250 million. It will take up about 480 meters of the skywalk. It will be completely waterproof.
The skywalk will benefit a large number of people. The Noida Authority will soon issue a DPR for the situation. Construction will take approximately five months.
The Skywalk will be 420 meters long and 5 meters wide, with an escalator moving at a speed of 0.5 meters per second. The Skywalk is being built in the shape of an "L" because land next to the stations has been given to a private company. The Skywalk would increase Aqua Line traffic by making it easier for commuters to travel between Delhi and Noida Metro stations.
