A residential society in Mumbai named Vivarea Condominium and Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL) has signed a contract for the supply of solar energy. The 3,125 MW solar project, a first of his type, will be built in Himayatnagar, Maharashtra, to provide clean energy to the community. This captive solar power plant, which is expected to produce about 7.5 million electricity and 6.15 tons of CO 2 offset in the first year, will be built, operated and maintained by the company, one of India's leading renewable energy integrated companies and a subsidiary of Tata Current.
The project will be delivered in October 2023 and will provide Vivarea Condominium with greenery electricity at a price that is 40% cheaper than the current rate. This will make Vivarea the first residential society in the nation to use its own solar energy for domestic purposes. Shivram Bikkina, Chief (Rooftop), Tata Power Renewable Energy, said: “This partnership is a testament to TPREL's Continued Efforts to Mainstream Renewable Energy Use." The Company's Portfolio includes more than 1.3 GW of rooftop and distributed generation projects across the country, in in addition to 10 GWp of ground-mounted utility-scale solar installations. TPREL also runs a factory in Bangalore with a capacity of 1,135 MW for producing modules and cells.
