The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) has issued an invitation for bids for the long-term purchase of 300 MW of wind energy from wind generation projects within the state.
As a serious down payment, bidders are required to pay Rs 118,000/MW for each project.
The winning bidder and MSEDCL will sign a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) which will last for 12 years from the date of execution of the PPA.
At one location, each wind energy project must be at least 0.5 MW in size. The bid power is at least 0.5 MW.
Participants in the bidding process must be intrastate projects that currently provide electricity to MSEDCL or another distribution company (DISCOM) under long-term energy purchase agreements (EPAs) that have already expired or are expected to expire on or before March 31, 2024.
The tender is open to wind energy projects that currently transport or sell electricity under open access or temporary PPAs.
