A 35-year contract for the Kishtwar transmission project was announced by Sterlite Power, an integrated developer and supplier of power solutions.
An official announcement stated that Kishtwar Transmission Limited, a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) of PFC Consulting Limited (PFCCL), had been given to Sterlite Power following a competitive rate-based bidding process.
Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC), a public company in Maharashtra, owns 100 percent of PFCCL. According to the statement, the project would include a 400/132 KV substation in Kishtwar and a 400 KV LILO (Line in Line out) transmission line between Kishnepur and Dulhasti.
“The transmission system will be used for the evacuation of 1,000 MW of power from the Pakal Dul Hydro Electric Project to the Kishtwar substation,” said the official, adding, “through the Kishtwar Transmission Limited SPV, the company and for 35 years will be a critical transmission project in Jammu and Kashmir.”
Manish Agarwal, Director and Chief Executive Officer of Sterlite Power's India Transmission Business, stated that the company is committed to enabling human empowerment by ensuring power connectivity through its power transmission projects.
“With the Kishtwar transmission project, we aim to further strengthen the energy infrastructure and usher in economic development in the J&K region,” said Agarwal.
Under competitive bidding based on tariffs, this will be Sterlite Power's 17th energy transmission project in India.
