Komatsu India Private (KIPL) has introduced the super giant water sprinkler model WT 80KL in India. This was introduced as a retrofit on a 100 t (ton) Komatsu dump truck, model HD785-7, manufactured at Komatsu India's production facility in Chennai. This giant leap through Komatsu India, together with Larsen & Toubro, demonstrates our firm commitment to sustainability, environmental protection and safe operations to support the mining industry, where these parameters are one of the most important responsibilities.
The newly launched water sprinkler WT 80KL has been successfully retrofitted to Komatsu's used dump truck model HD785-7 (100 t) at Singareni Collieries (SCCL) Singareni Collieries (SCCL) open-cast mines Ramagundam and Manuguru in Telangana. This has extended the life of used dump trucks, which were otherwise destined to be scrapped.
This giant water sprayer is used for dust control in the mining and workshop, as well as on transport roads. A water cannon as a fire extinguisher is also suitable for washing other trucks and mining machines.
With a capacity of 80,000 liters, it is the largest water sprinkler introduced by Komatsu to the Indian mining industry, which has until now used smaller capacity machines. The water sprinkler WT 80KL is operated with powerful hydraulic gear pumps.
The sprinkler system, mounted on the rear of the machine, has a spray capacity of 18 m wide and 9.5 m far. This larger sprinkler covers the maximum area of transport routes, reducing the number of passes and ultimately saving fuel.
The water cannon attachment is mounted on the front of the machine. It is hydraulically operated at approximately 90 degrees of slew and 70 degrees of elevation to pour the water to a distance of approximately 60 m.
The integration of this water spray and gun system with Komatsu's dump truck model HD785-7, a well-proven dump truck model for its performance in the mining industry around the world, will be an added benefit and bring customer satisfaction.
