Voltas M&CE Division Vice President Sharad Thussu said the agreement for the M&CE divisions to acquire Jacon for the Indian market was a major expansion strategy in its underground mining, construction and tunneling offerings.
He said Jacon's product lines are highly complementary to M&CE's existing product lines and offer opportunities to expand into the underground mining and construction sectors.
Jacon has designed and manufactured products that are easy to maintain and repair and offer lower operating costs than other manufacturers, which will appeal to the Indian market.
