Karnataka registered 40,499 cases against 23,209 discharges on Wednesday. In addition, 21 deaths were reported in the past 24 hours and the positivity rate for the day was 18.80 percent.
The total number of active cases in the state was 2,67,650. Case Fatality Rate for the recorded day is 0.05 percent.
The numbers provided much-anticipated relief for state health authorities.

Tumakuru district (1804) recorded the highest number of cases after Bengaluru. Followed by Hassan (1,785), Mysuru (1,341) and Mandya (1,340). Bengaluru Rural, which had registered more than 1,000 cases, has reached a settlement with 785 cases.
