Delhi's health minister, Satyendar Jain, said the capital is expected to report a substantial drop of about 4,000-5,000 Covid-19 cases on Monday.
Jain said this is the fourth consecutive day for the city to report declining trends in fresh Covid infection. About 14 to 15 thousand cases can be reported.
Speaking to the media, he said about 2,700 bed occupancy rates were reported on Sunday and there are still more than 13,000 beds unoccupied in hospitals.
Health Minister Jain said Delhi has so far administered vaccines worth 2.85 crores and 100 percent of the eligible population has been vaccinated with the first dose of vaccines.
“Eighty percent of the eligible population in the city has received their second dose of vaccines, while 1.27,000 individuals have received a precautionary dose, including 3,5,000 residents aged 60 and older, 60,000 frontline workers and 32,000 health professionals,” he added. jain.
Delhi currently has no vaccine shortage and has a supply of about 10 days, the minister said.
Meanwhile, Delhi registered 18,286 new Covid cases along with 28 deaths on Sunday. The new Covid infection has brought the number to 17,09,870.
Active Covid cases have also registered a drop of 89,891 according to the Delhi health department.
